How to Find the Best Parenting Podcasts

To me, the best parenting podcasts are genuine and raw, with a solid blend of expert advice and authentic sharing of personal experience. I love parenting podcasts that target a niche topic, like ADHD or step-parenting. I also thoroughly enjoy parenting podcasts hosted by experts in the mental health field for their solid parenting advice.

The Best Parenting Podcasts are Ones that Fit Your Values

When it comes to parenting podcasts, there’s a lot of junk out there. It can be hard to sift through it sometimes. When it comes to the best parenting podcasts, I always prefer those that value human rights, are research-driven, and present a positive parenting framework.

All parents are entitled to find a podcast that fits their world view and child-rearing values. But as for me, I stay away from podcasts that recommend punitive parenting techniques, value obedience over independence, or preach discriminatory messages.

The Best Parenting Podcasts from a Wellness Perspective

The best parenting podcasts, in my therapist-mom opinion, are those that support parents via validation, affirmation, and parenting tips that focus on:

  • Trauma
  • Attachment
  • Mental Health
  • Self-Care
  • Child & Family Development
  • Emotion Regulation and Emotional Intelligence
  • Parenting with Unconditional Love
  • Setting Clear Expectations, Limits, and Boundaries with Kindness & Firmness

But I think the most important message all of the best parenting podcasts get across is that the parenting struggle is real, it’s OK to make mistakes, and at the end of the day, you’re doing your best and that goes a long way.
